I’d like to say that in hindsight, switching from beer to rum wasn’t a great idea
In fact, foresight tells me that it’s a terrible idea
Feeling groggy, we set out into downtown Toronto and thankfully the heat had abated
We wondered around a bit before stopping for brunch at an eatery in the underground shopping mall
Then we were on to the CN Tower
Have to say it was pretty impressive
We were really lucky with the queue - in fact the sun has pretty much been shining on us as far as getting to places before it gets busy
Joss then needed a medicinal ice cream in front of a fountain
We finished the afternoon picking up some souvenirs before Joss took a “quick” siesta
While she had a kip, I went out for a walk and explored some of the directions we hadn’t managed to go
I can neither confirm nor deny whether I tried a Canadian McDonald’s
But if I HAD tried one, I’m sure it would have been delicious
For dinner, we headed into Chinatown- but there was food from the whole of Asia - this one’s for Hattie
We settled though on Chinese and we ordered way too much but it was so tasty
After this we went back to our local bar and watched the ice hockey on the tv
The crowds are so polite I really didn’t fit in when I was there
I did, however, very much enjoy the Marlies’ only other chant (from let’s go Marlies) which was “ref you suck” - not even the family stand at Bournemouth would sing that
I’ve enjoyed every moment in Canada - with the bright lights of New York to come - bring it on!!!!
